About Me

About Me

My name is Molly Laury and I am a senior Environmental Science major and Statistics and Sustainability Studies minor at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I first became interested in the problem of tourism while studying abroad in the Archipelago of Bocas del Toro, a popular tourism destination off the Northeast coast of Panama. While there, I was able to observe, study, and take part in several forms of sustainable tourism including ecotourism, agrotourism, and volunteer tourism. Upon my return to Muhlenberg College, I was excited to continue researching the impacts of unsustainable tourism on a global scale. Over the next few months, I will use this domain to explore the causes, consequences, solutions, and barriers of the tourism industry in order to determine the possible ways in which sustainable tourism development can be achieved on a global scale.
